Legende De Mies storms her way to the win at the American Eventing Championships

Legende De Mies, also known as “Legend,” had quite the 2024 season. Beginning the year in Ocala, showing on the Winter circuit there, Legend took her change in discipline to heart. Owner Darci Burton purchased her a few years ago from Ireland as a proper show jumping mare. She and Megan took the mare to Spain to show off her skills in the jumper ring, where Legend soars.

After importing Legend to the U.S., she continued competing in the jumper ring at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala and beyond. After several Cross County school outings, Legend began to show a lot of promise for the eventing scene. As a result, Megan and Darci set their sights on campaigning her for the 2024 show season. Legend did not disappoint. She showed up big. Show after show, Legend scored in the 20’s in dressage, clear in stadium, and began to seek out the fences on XC, landing her in the top in all of her events. These stellar performances put her on the path to compete at the American Eventing Championships, which was hosted at the Kentucky Horse Park. Not only did Megan and Legend do well in all three phases, they won the Novice Horse Division with the lowest winning dressage score of the show. Proud is an understatement. Planning for the 2025 show season is well underway for Legende De Mies with a trip back to Florida to compete on the Winter circuit in both eventing and the jumper ring. The most exciting and new adventure for this unstoppable mare is Darci Burton is granting a few lucky people the opportunity to experience the same rush of emotions by opening up shares to purchase and partnering  in ownership benefits.
